I am Runar Ingebrigtsen.

Independent software developer and entrepreneur. I work primarily as a full-stack developer – Ruby at the core, Vue at the front – with the infrastructure depth to build not just the application, but the platform it runs on. Over two decades of Linux experience means DevOps isn't a separate discipline for me; it's how I think about systems from the first line of code.

What I do: I build business software that works: web applications, system integrations, data platforms, and the cloud infrastructure underneath. I've founded companies and built complete cloud platforms from scratch – more than once. That range lets me take a product from idea to running service, and keep it running.

For the past year I've been working hands-on with AI in real products: integrating language models into applications, building agent-based workflows, and running local, self-hosted AI – models that live on your hardware, under your control, where your data never leaves the building. AI is a tool like any other, and I care about finding the right tool for the job, not the most fashionable one.

What I believe: Digital sovereignty matters. Your data, your infrastructure, your AI – these should be things you own and understand, not things you rent from someone else's jurisdiction. I build local-first, privacy-respecting systems on open-source foundations, and I deliver managed self-hosted services under my Soverein IT brand.

Infrastructure should be simple and understandable. New technology should reduce complexity, not add to it.

How I work: I love working with people – collaborating, exploring, and making technology serve your purpose. I believe sharing multiplies joy and divides burdens. I'm direct, practical, and I'd rather show you a working prototype than a slide deck.
